Course II: “Identifying Salvation Army-leadership”
A BRIEF PRESENTATION OF THE SUBJECTS:
SA ecclesiology
It may be easy to find the SA’s ecclesiological form, but what is the essence?

SA-leadership in the body of Christ
The aim of this subject is to focus on our position as leaders in an ecumenical context. The subject will look at ecumenism on local, regional, national and global level. We will look at “appointment-briefs” from other denominations which have a similar system as TSA – e.g. for the role of bishops, overseers, seminar-principals etc.

Finding a good mentor
Should a mentor be from the “inside” or is it better to seek a mentor from the outside? How much time is advisable to use with a mentor? How do I go about looking for one? Discussion will take place in groups.

To lead an integrated mission
There is no doubt that the SA’s mission is clearly expressed as an “integrated mission”. This is confirmed by the international mission statement, slogans like “heart to God, hand to man” etc. How integrated is the mission on regional and local level – even down to the mission of the individual Salvationist? How do we meet the challenge on Sr. leadership level? MISSION IN COMMUNITY

SA’s unity in diversity
In the movement we have a great variety of expressions and views globally, but also within the same territory. The SA's mission is to the “whole person” – does this create more than one “goal”? There will always be something that ties us together, but are there any non-negotiable issues? - doctrinal challenges - moral and ethical issues - traditionalism in a rapid changing world - diversity in worship - philanthropy or mission - how “diverse” has the global SA become in light of the territorial discretion?
