NLDI
Nordic Leadership
Development Institute
BACKGROUND:
In 2006-07 a group of representatives from the four Nordic territories with a mandate from the Nordic Leaders’ Conference-2006 (NLC) started to look at the need and the aim of a possible Nordic Leadership Development Institute (NLDI). The recommendations from this group are found in a document dated 12. March 2007. Two weeks later this document formed the base on which the NLC-2007 in Rome decided that the planning of NLDI should continue.

Major Jostein Nielsen was appointed chairman of the project on 1. Nov. 2007. Following his appointment a resource-group with representatives from the hosting territories were appointed. These members are: Ingrid Larsen (Den), Eija Kornilow (Fin), Rut Baronowsky (Swe), Mona Stockman (Swe) and Henrik Bååth (Nor). When the group presented the project in Copenhagen on the 28th of March 2008, NLC-2008 decided that the institute should become a reality and that the project-group should carry out the implementation of the program. Colonel André Cox is the liaison-officer of NLDI.
